Some years ago the Auckland Civic League took up the matter of placing tablets on the site of historic spots in Auckland to keep before the minds of the citizens the early history of the city (states the Star). A marble tablet was erected on the old wall of the Albert Barracks, and is now to he seen in the grounds of the new University, where the wall remains. Preparations are being made to mark all the historic spots m Auckland with some form of memorial.
