Williams, M.P., writing with reference to the proposed stock track from Poverty Hay to the Bay of Plenty, via Mangapuhatu, stated that lie would get. into touch with Mr. Coates, and see whether he could get constfuelion work under way. —Received. The Cook County Council wrote, stating that they would support- representations for a new stock route to 'ilVe Bay of Plenty.—Received. The Director-General of the Agricultural Department wrote with reference lo the Union’s suggestion that the importation of maize from South .Africa* should lie prohibited. Weevil came into Mew Zealand in many different articles of commerce, and regulations prohibiting all this produce would bo 'too serious a stop.
