The appointment of Mr, K. ,S. Williams as Minister of Public Works was the subject (if reference at the monthly meeting of the Farmers' Union to-day. The president, Mr. M. T. TrnfTord, said that Mr. Williams was a, very good man and it would have. 1 been .impossible to secure a better one. Mr. F. S. Bowen said Ilia! the district was fortunate in having Mr. Williams appointed. He was a man of very wide experience and the appointment would Ire received with pleasure throughout New Zealand.
