Fames from the polish used in the new premises being constructed for the Commercial Union Assurance Co. in the city escaped through a window and came in cent -I/:*, with the cigarette of a passer-by. A terrific explosion followed,. the place was immediately a sheet* of flames. Three workmen endeavoring to extinguish, the outbreak were severely burned and taken to hospital. . Extensive damage was done before the outbreak -was subdued. '
