The hearing concluded in the Police Court yesterday afternoon of a series of charges against John Joseph Hansen, alias Jim Wereta, 23. Neils .Marten («.- sen, 32. andJvdith Roaina Smith. 22. The first-named pleaded guilty to stealing from a house at Papatawa the sum.of 17s and sundry articles, including a Post Office Savings Bank book, of the total value of £3 ss, and further pleaded guilty to forjrine - a Post Offire withdrawal slip for £159 and uttering the same to Smith. - He was commit teed for sentence at the Supreme Court.,
Smith pleaded not enilty to forging another withdrawal slip for the same amount, and uttering to a postal official Also not aruiltv to the .< harve f.f conspiring with others to defraud the Po«t-muster-General of £159. and was committed for trial at the Palmerston North Court.
Hansen and Olsen pleaded gtiilfv . t•'conspiracy and in the latter connect ion were committed to Wellington for sentence,- '
