The Australians made :122 rims for the loss of three wickets in their first innings, and the innings was then declared. Durham's total for the second innings was 116.' The attendance at the match at Sunderland was 3000. The weather was changeable. The wicket was drying under tin 1 influence of a good wind. Andrews again forced the pace, and when the board showed 270 he was easily stumped through jumping out to a ball from Cook. Ho had batted for 125 minutes. He hit one six and seventeen fours. The bowling was not difficult 1 lo deal with. Bardsley played a sound innings. He cut strongly and displayed excellent judgment and timing. He hit five tours. "SOMETHING OF A STAND." After the early dismissal of Fcrens something of a stand was made by Weight and Kinch, the scoring coming mostly off Richardson, until the board showed 32. Kinch, attempting to drive, was completely beaten by Richardson, who was always difficult to play and was unlucky in not getting more wickets. Oarr played dashingly. He lashed out at everything and rattled up his 35 in ten minutes, including two sixes, three, fours and a single off Griiumott in two overs. Finally he was well held by Taylor on the boundary.
