SECTIONS SELL CHEAP.
FEW BIDS AT AUCTION. Despite the exceptionally low reserves which* had beeii fixed there was practh cally no demand when two house properties and 49 residential sections were offered for sale by Messrs Bail aiid C'rawshaw at auction this morning. Two sec-, tions in Albert street, within the Borough, and little mol'e than a mile,and a half from the Post Office were sold for £IOO each, the sections eacb containing a full quarter-am; with 85ft frontage. A section with a small cottage upon it, in ; the same street, was. disposed of for 4D260, but other section's .did not even elicit a bid.
The only other sections sold were two in'Andrew street, Te . Hapara,. each of which was sold, for £3O. .The soctions, it in stated, are ,thc .cbefipest wbicli, have changed'hands in Gisborne for 25 v years, but"notwithstanding this, fact there were practically no buyer?, only few'of the large, purriber prfesent'being interested. It is anticipated, however, that a number of sales'; will be made privately.
