ENGLAND TO AUSTRALIA.
AN AIRMAN'S AMBITION. MR. COBHAM'S ROUTE CHOSEN. HOW HE WILL~REDUCE TIME. (Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.) (Australian ami N.Z. Cnble Association.: (Received April 17, 2 p.m.) LONDON, April 16. It is understood that Mr. Alan Cobham's itinerary for a flight to Australia is on the verge of completion. It differs materially from Sir Ross Smith's and consists chiefly of short stages, numbering about 30, and none exceeding 500 miles. Apparently the idea is to provide for quick petrol refills, doing two stages daily, so that if the weather is favorable there is a prospect of cutting off at least a week from Sir Ross Smith's time of 28 days. Mr. Cobham will probably cross the straights' from Sarriboka .'to Darwin, llicncp fringe Queensland, and traverse the Riverina country to .Melbourne.
