HUSBAND SENT TO IMUSON. A man namuil Robert ’Thom. of Green Island, appeared before Mr. .1. 0. L. Hewitt, S.M., in tin* Dunedin Magistrate’s Court, eliarged with assaulting his wife and with trespassing on her premises during the curreney id' a maintenance order. Constable Hamilton gave evidence that when the defendant, was drank he was not responsible for his • net ions. The constable substantiated the account of Thom’s bridal behavior. “1 saw the marks oil the woman’s back after the man had flogged her,” said the constable, in answer to SeniorSergeant Quurtcrmuin, who prosecuted.
