As the, result of an application by,the Drivers' Union the Arbitration Court has 'decided ‘ that an employer is. not hound by dm preference clause t-o dismiss a Tioti-imionisi. 1 youth',in favor of a unionist adult, nr vice versa. The clause must he read as requiring the substitution of a worker of equivalent -flatus. This, however, does not apply to apprentices, who are not affected jin any. Way by th'o preference clause. <
