The Telegraph-Head Office considerable trouble, especially. iiLthe Sout*} Island, through interference by earth currents. At-Wellington the trouble was markedi between 7.30 and 10.30 o’tiociv, and Eastern Cable- traffic was seriously hampered all yesterday afternoon till 8.30 p.m. Wireless traffic was badly interrupted ini the- east-west direction, butthe north-soutb. was not badly affected) Wireless traffic’s worst phase occurred from 2.30 a.m., and by 3 a.m. was all cloaiv Broadcast reception was weakened in an extreme degree.
