I’.B. CLUB ANNUAL MEETING
AN IMPROVED POSITION.
The financial position of the Poverty Bay Hunt' Club improved substantially •during the year, which was closed’ with the annual meeting held yesterday afternoon.
A fair attendance, of members at .the meeting w;as presided! oyer by Mr It. Shot rat!. It was reported that the bank balance barf been increased fro m! £35 5s sd, to £146 8s Id, in tli.e course of the year. The total receipts wore £2556 12s lid, the main items being gate and grandstand'oharges at. the annua] race pieeting £290, racing foes £163, privileges £9O, t-ofnlisator receipts £1569, subscriptions £202, ball proceeds 61102, riding fees £6. The expenditure totalled £2556 12s lid, including advertising £46, stakes £515, Government tax £B3O 16s, and wages £375. The balance, sheet showed liabilities amounting to £1405, the assets being bank balance £146, land account £347, buildings and improvements (less depreciation), £825, telephone £l7, and sundry debtors £59. The balance sheet- was adopted, a short discussion taking place upon tho method of collecting subscriptions. The meeting decided to recommend that the incoming committee direct its attention to this matter.
Officers for the ensuing year wero elected as follows : —President, MU' R. Sherratt; vice-president, Mr , G. M. Reynolds; master, Mr A. R. Iline; committee, Messrs E. W. M. Wallis, W. S. Davidson, H. B. Drummond, ,T. C. N. Thomas, O. Teitjen, and Hi R. Williams; secretary and treasurer, Mr H F.. Dodd; lion. ' auditor, Mr IT. M. Porter.
