Messrs Williams and Kettle report having held their weekly stock sale on Thursday, when they offered a smail yarding of sheep to'a poor attendance of the public. l’ri-ecs were on a par with previous sales, and bidding was slack throughout. They report the lotlowing sales :—67 wethers, low condition 10s Id: 31 ewes, 7s 6d: 5 lambs, 7s 7d ; 85 wethers, 4 and 6-tli, 14s; 24 wethers 2-th, 10s lOd ; 471 breeding ewes with Romtiev rams, 12s 6d; 42 ewes 4s 4d.

The New Zealand Lean and Mercantile Agency, Co., are in receipt of the following cablegram from their London house under date April 14: —“Butter. STE WART--HICKLING

A pretty nodding was solemnised on Wednesday in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Napier, when the Rev. J. A. Asher united in bonds of' matrimony M iss lna May Hickling, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. 11. R. Hickling, of “Sea View,” Nuhaka, and Mr. J. A. K. Stewart- ‘“Ka.hu”), son of Mr. and Mrs. C. EStewart, of Napier Terrace. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, looked sweet in a dainty frock ot brochc satin and white georgette. Her silk tulle veil, edged with silver lace and silver motifs, was held in place by French orange blossoms. The two bridesmaids. Miss Enid Langton and Miss Olive Hickling, looked charming in pale blue and pale petunia c-rcpc-de-cliiAe and georgette with silver. The little flower girl, and Miss Nancy Hickling (cousin), wore palo blue and silver. Mr. V. Thompson carried out the duties of .best man, and Air. Hugh Hickling acted as groomsman. After the wedding breakfast Mr. and Airs. Stewart left by car on their honeymoon the bride travelling in a smart frock of with a sweet little hat to tone.
