VISITING DEBATERS.

A largo audience in the Town Hull listened'to a debate wherein three visiting British University representatives, Messrs Molson (Oxford) McDonald (Edinburgh), and Reed (London), took part with Messrs Hurley, Davidson and Martin-Smith (Victoria College. The subject was a motion “That this House views with concern the present tendencies Inwards disruption of the Empire.” The visitors treated the subject in the more workmanlike manner, their speeches showing a better finish than those of the local men.
Messrs Molson Hurley and McDonald took up the affirmative, but failed to impress the audience with their arguments, the motion being defeated by a small margin. '
