EFFECT OF STABILISATION SCHEME, . , MERCHANTS' DECISION. (Received December 30, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, Dec. 30. Following the announcement of the Paterson scheme for the stabilisation of butler prices, which operate from January 1, merchants decided that the wholesale price of hitter will be increased immediately by 25s a hundredweight, while the retail price will probably be raised 3d a pound.
