WOMAN SHOT.

While Mrs. Ruby Saunders, Thomas Pugh, and arother man were playing cards in Pugh’s home at Glen Lines. New South Wales, Inst week, a knock was heard at the door, and on answering it Mrs. Saundors was shot. • The two men inside heard fi shot, and on Pugh rushing to the door, lie saw Mrs. Saunders staggering about, with a wound in the chest. The injured woman was taken to hospital.
A man named Sidney Hodge was in the house when the police arrived, and lie was taken into custody. A revolver was found in tho kitchen.
Hodge appeared at thp- Glen Lines Police Court on a charge of attempting 10 mundor Mrs. Saunders. He was remanded for eight days.
