FATALITY IN THE BUSH.
MAORI CRUSHED BY TREE
KAIKOHE, Saturday
A native named Jacob Koroi, married. with three children, was killed while hushfelling; between Horeke and Talickc. It seems, that lie was following up the sawyers and was engaged in’chopping a tree on which another tree had become hung up. In running from under when his tree was about to fall lie slipped on a barked rimu log, and before he could recover was crushed to death. Deceased was working back a short distance front his mates and when they failed to bear tho ring of his axo they went over to inquire the reason and found him lying dead under the tree.
