WELLINGTON RACES. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Wellington spring meeting, was concluded at Traitlmm. There was a large attendance. Though it did not actually rain the cold wind and light misty showers were enough to make tho day am unpleasant one. The racing was again of a very high standard, some exciting contests being witnessed. The Champion Plate only drew a field of lour, hut the finish between Rumiymedo and To Kara was mm of the, best eve • seen in the race. The latter scored after a ding (long go up the straight. Phoenix Park, one of the Lowry team, was successful in the Pearce Handicap, after being one of the loading division all the way. A surprise was in store in the Nainai Handicap, for the imported horse Grand Knight- took charge two furlongs from home and won mcirituviously. For the meeting the tote was down 1 £l5O. To-day the machine handled £72,284 10s, compared with £73,835 for the corresponding day of last year, the total for the meeting being £119,070, against £119,220 last year.
