YOUNG MAN IN TROUBLE. MAGISTRATE’S COURT SEQUEL.' “This is race and show week, and young men like the defendant should be very careful how they conduct themselves,’’ remarked Senr.-Sergeant .Fitzpatrick, upon the case of a young man who appeared, before the Magistrate's Court to-day, in consequence of a disturbance in an hotel last evening. The Magistrate, Mr. E. C. Levvev, subsequently said that the defendant would have been better off if he had stuck to his country .job. Maurice John Sims, alias Doiielly, alias McKliighl, a man of -d years of age-, was charged with failing lo quit licensed premises when requested to do so. The. defendant admitted the offence and also lhat he was found on licensed premises out of the permissible hours, and lhat lie had resisted Constable McKenzie in the execution of his duty.

Henr.-Sergt. Fitzpatrick stated that shortly after (» o’clock lust evening Sims had walked into a room at the. Albion Hotel, after having knocked and received no answer. Surprised to find a boarder in the room, he asked the occupant to have a drink, and then went away. He repeated the experiment at another door. The licensee was informed, and requested Sims to leave the hotel. This ho refused to do, and an argument ensued, defendant finally being ejected with the help of a boarder. Constable McKenzie took him in charge, when he refused to tell his name or where ho came from, and on the way to the station a rough and tumble resulted from 1 he defendant’s resistance of the policeman.
