Elinor Glyn in her latest comedy, answers this question perplexing so many women “llow can 1 help my husband to make more money?’’ 'The reply is given in “How to Educate a Wife,*’ now being shown at Everybody’s Theatre. Marie Prevost plays the part of Mabel Todd, the drab wife of an insurance agent whose financial slump shows no rise. Her husband is played by Monte Blue. Unless t-heer is more money they will lose their poor little home. Their successful friend, Billy Breese, an architect (played by Creighton Hale), givee a studio party, and shows tho shabby pair how his smart, wife, impersonated by Betty Francisco, d'raws business bio way by being “nice’’ to some rich bachelor wanting a new home for bis house parties. The slow-thinking insurance agent gets the idea, and passes it on to his wife. How she works it out supplies the excitement. The supports are remarkably good. Such an offering is “My Lady’s Dress,” produced by William Fox and based on the, famous stage play by Edward Knoblock. It -will be shown for the. first time at the Palace on Thursday next at the matinee. “Mv Lady’s Dress” is really five Sequences showing the struggles that- occur in different parts of the world while tho material of “My Lady’s Dress” is being developed into a radiant creation. The story portrays a- wife, spending enormous sums to make an impression, while her husband is slaving to pay for her costly whims. Tiie principal parts are enacted by Estelle Taylor, Mare McDermott- and Unity Sot-hern. The supporting pictures will ho of a most entertaining description. The screen tests held recently will he advanced another stage, when the finished film of the Gisborne aspirants will be presented. Picture enthusiasts will be able to pick the budding film stars from the local actors and actresses and those of Napier. Wanganui and Palmerston North. These pictures cause endless amusement wherever shown.
