NEW ZEALAND’S PREMIER.
“INTEGRITY AND ENERGY.’
LONDON, June 3.—ln the current issue of Empire Production and Export—the journal of the British Empire Producers’ Organisation —there is reference to Mr Coates’ accession to the position of Prime Minister of New’ Zealand. The paper says : “'We wish Mr J. 0. Coates every success in his promotion. To succeed Mr Massey is no light task, and as Mr Coates is not widely known in this country it is impossible as yet to form a clear judgment of his political abilities, but in all the reports of him from whatever source two qualities are emphasised, straight dealing and energy, and there is no better qualification to succeed Mr Massey than those two qualities, which that great Imperialist possessed himself in so eminent a degree. We wish iMr Coates and New Zealand all good fortune.”
