(Elec. Tel. Copyright—United Press Assn.i SYDNEY, March 5.
Lt is finally arranged that the McDcvitt-Goo’dscll race for the world’s sculling championship shall he rowed at Ulmarra on the Clarence river on March 21. Tho date was originally fixed for March 14, but this clashed with the local race meeting. HANNAN VERSUS HADFIELD. Hannan and Had field will row at Tauranga, on April'll. A strong local committee has been formed. Hannan lias been training steadily, and hopes to be at tlie top of'liis form on the day of the race. Writing to- a friend in Auckland, Hannan says there are some’wonderfully good rowing courses at Tauranga, which enable races to be finished off the town. Some time ago Hannan lodged a deposit in Auckland to bind a cliellenge for a race with the winner of the coming Goodsell-McDevitt contest in Austral ia for the world’s title. If lie defeats Hadlield, Hannan will claim his right to this race at an early date. , If Hadfield wins, however, Hannan would stand clown in favor of iiis victorious opponent.
