The newspaper People says that, secret supplies of arms and ammunition have lately.been pouring into Ireland, and a new ycboUion is pawned to stmt, in a few days Tho leader, Frank Aitken, works independently of De Valera, with whom the plotters are absolutely unconnected. „ .. , , , , , Recently Carr, one of Aitken s trusted followers, ventured into Newry with a view to arranging for his invalid mother to be sent to Dublin. An U.stei constabulary sergeant recognised and chailonged him, and shot Carr dead. Hundreds attended the funeral. Feeling is running high,on both sides of the border. A series ot mysterious arrests have been made. Trouble is likely to break out at any minute. Aitken is a dominatng personality who does not recognise any law except his own. He respects De Valera even less 'than the British Government. News of tho. World says tho leader of the Irish plotters claims he is financed from America. Tho plotters will probably attempt extensive guerilla warfare, hoping' to force England to intervene, and rekindling dormant hatreds.
