METHODIST CONFERENCE.

The annual conference of the Methodist Church of New Zealand opened last night in Taranaki .Street Church, wjth the induction of the president for 1925, the ittiv. T. R. Richards (New Plymouth). ■ J His subject for (lie inaugural address was “The Living Christ, the Living Church, and the Vital Christian Experience.” The Rev. r. N. Knight, 8.A., of Pitt street, Auckland, was elected president for 1926. Mr. IT. P. Mourant, of Wellington, was elected vice-presi-dent for 1925. The Rev. A. N. Scatter was elected secretary, his assistants being Revs. M. A. Rugby Pratt and A. H. Fowles. Other appointments were: Secretaries, Revs. J. I). Ale Arthur and R. B. Tinsley; journal secretaries, Rev. W. J. Avery and F. E. Lf/uLey; correspondence secretary, Rev. W. fi. Slade; presenter. Rev. ,T. H. Has’nm.
