ESCAPE FROM FIRE.
(Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, this dad. With scarcely time to gather a few personal effects, a Spreydon family had to make a hasty exit in night attire from, their home, which was destroyed by five early on Sunday morning. The occupants were Mrs Smith and four sons, aged nineteen, fourteen, seven and nine. Mr s Smith was awakened at midnight v the roar of flames, and then hurriedly warned the others, who rushed but of-the house. The insurance on the house was £1850; in the Alliance Office.
