INFANTILE PARALYSIS.

(I’er Press Association.) AUCKLAND, this day. Ten eases of infantile paralyses were reported here to-day, including two in the suburbs, and eight in widelyseparated’ country districts. WELLINGTON, this day. During the 48 hours ended 9 a.m. twenty-one infantile cases were reported—Wellington city 3, Patea 1, Nelson 1, Wanganui 3, Auckland. 4, Canterbury 8. and Otago 1. CHRISTCHURCH, this day. 'Seven cases of infantile paralysis have been reported in Canterbury since Sunday at noon, including five in the city and suburbs. DUNEDIN, this day. A suspected infantile paralysis case, a girl aged 11 years, of Mornington suburb, has been isolated at tbe hospital.

The inadvisability of holding any kind of children’s gatherings was emphasised by Dr. Chesson, one of the medical officers in the Auckland health area, when interviewed by an Auckland Star representative. “At the present time,” said the doctor, “it is most unwise for any private family to entertain in their homes (he children of other families. To do so in any form might he the means of. spreading this dread disease amongst the children of their most intimate friend's. If such a catastrophe occurred the promoter of the party would he in an unenviable position.
