TARANAKI OILFIELDS.
DRILLING TO COMMENCE. EXTENSIVE SURVEY TO BE MADE. 'Per Press Assirieinlion.i NEW PLYMOUTH, this rlav. Dr, Olnpp, consulting geologist for the Taranaki Oilfields, Ltd., when interviewed, stated that drilling will commence at Tarata immediately, and that preparations have been made to drill on the foreshore close to highwater mark at Moturoa within the shelter of the breakwater.
Geologists will make an extensive survey, preparatory to locating n site for a third bore. Mr. W. Osborne, geologist at Sydney University, has .joined the staff, and another is to be appointed. Two complete drilling plants are already on the ground.
