To assist, sheep farmers to decide upon sending their wool to. the stores by rail, arrangements have been made by the Railway Department in the Ashburton district to provide cartage from the farms to the railway station. Mr. H. Chapman, district traffic manager, who visited Ashburton, stated : “Wo have made arrangements in the Ashburton and surrounding districts for carting the wool from the farms to the railway station and a through rate from the farms will be charged.
