AMERICAN SPRINTERS TO VISIT GISBORNE. The secretary of the Gisbornc Amateur Athletic and Harrier Club to-day received a wire from the secretary of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, advising that an endeavor is being made to have Paddock and Murehison, two American sprinters, visit N<nv Zealand during February and 'March next. Should they succeed in doing this it was asked if the local club would guarantee 1350 towards their expenses. The local secretary has wired in reply, guaranteeing the amount, asked. Should the visit eventuate Disappearance of Paddock and Murehison will arouse keen enthusiasm, as the former is the world's champion sprinter, while Murehison is regarded as one of the foremost athletes in America.
