To take debentures over stock-in-trade. To carry on the business of a mortgage, loan and finance company in all Us branches. Generally to supplement: the existing banking facilities. THE STRENGTH OF THE PROMOTERS In addition to the Provisional Directors there are thirty other promoters, who include: H. P. KISSLING, General Manager of the New Zealand Insurance Co; J. J. KINGSTON, Auckland Manage* of the South British Insurance Co.; W. R, WILSON and E. HORTON, ‘proprietors of “The New Zealand Herald;” C. W. EARLE, Editor of “The Dominion;” W. C LEYS, Editor of “The Auckland Star;” L. T. SYMLS, late Manager of the Bank of" Australasia; D. MacCORMICK. late Manager of the National Bank of New Zealand; HENRY HAYWARD, Manager of Hie New Zealand Picture Supplies, Ltd.; K. P. HE A TTY. Accountant of the National Bank at Auckland; and E. R. BLOOMIHELD, of Auckland and Gisborne. EXAMPLE OF THE BENEFITS DERIVED FROM USING CREDIT. ’> *A business man requires a motor car. He has his income and investments in land- or in,qompauy shares, it would be impracticable tor him to buy the car directly out-of his ''income, and the sale of some of his assets would involve him in an unnecessary His •best course is therefore to purchase the car under the hire purchase system. The price then paid is the cash price of the car plus the Corporation’s differential, covering the. cost of .Investigation, Interest, Insurance and Collection. r l lie buyer pays a deposit ot not less than >25 per cent, in cash, and pays the balance in twelve monthly instalments. Ihc terms may be altered to meet individual cases. A lien is retained on the ear until full payment, is made. The Dealer endorses the notes of the Purchaser, which arc bought by the. Corporation. The Corporation then has three separate securities for the amount of the advance—--4(1) The obligation,of the purchaser; (2) the obligation of the dealer; and (3) its lien over the vehicle. Under such circumstance;# as these the proportion of bail debts is a fraction of tone per cent. At the end of the first year’s operations ot The Australian Guarantee Corporation it was reported that no losses had been made, and none were then anticipated. EXTENT OF BUSINESS TO BE TRANSACTED j. The only other public company established in New Zealand tor the transaction of this class of business 1 has so far confined its operations to the Motor Trade, and only to. certain 'branches of that trade, but although it has not been in operation for a toll year it lias had vto issue the whole of its capital (£200,000) in order to be in a position to meet all the demands made upon it for advances, and purposes increasing its authorised capital to £500,000. i This is an indication of the widespread nature of the business which is open to the present ><Cdmpu|iy, for it will deal with every trade of whatever nature. SAFETY AND SECURITY Experience shows that losses are practically non-existent. In the very rare cases when r .companies of this nature'have to take over assets, their equity in them can hardly fail to • * exceed the indebtedness of the defaulter. There is no element of speculation in any trails-' ,‘action. In the case of chattels of any description not less than 25 per cent, of their value ; is secured to tfie "Corporation at the outset, and in addition they are insured under a comprehensive policy. Every payment made to the Corporation in reduction of an advance -'-decreases the risk upon the security. INSURANCE It is intended to lake a chief agency from one of the leading insurance companies, which Will undertake the insurance of nil chattels over which the Corporation shall grant advances. The commission payable to the Corporation upon these insurances should largely cover the cost of administration. In such companies, ns this the ratio of administration expenses to turnover is extruordinarily low. CHEAP INVESTMENT FOR SHAREHOLDERS A leading feature'of corporations of this nature is that it is very unusual, and is,-in filet, not profitable for.them to call up more than say 10/- in the £1 on their ordinary shares. It. is far more usual and more profitable to obtain additional funds on Ihe security of their uncalled capital, and to use them instead of the shareholders’ money.in the business of the company. This leaves .-it a low figure the amount on which dividends have to be paid, and therefore increases the prospect of larger dividends. REMUNERATIVE CHARACTER OF BUSINESS If mav be seen that where the Corporation will have numerous advances which are ] H! j,ig conliimullv reduced by monthly payments, these monthly payments form a further source of capital for further advances. .It is not anticipated'that any money of the Corporation will be idle for a day. For example,,’if there are 200 motor, cars secured to- the Cor-. ponjtibif, and the-original advance on each amounts .to £50(1, including principal, .'interest, ami. other charges, each client .has: n moiitlily 1 -payment, of £4l/.13/t to make for .twelve months. Therefore, from this source alone the Corporation would be receiving £B3BB/6/8 per month, which' covers a further sixteen loans of £SOO each.. - " . * i i APPLICATIONS FOR SHARES Copies of the Prospectus may be obtained from, and application for shares made to, the Representative of the Organising Broker, G. Craig, at the Gisborne Hotel; to the local agent of the Organising Broker, E. Plumer Mountfort, Lowe Street; or any member of the Gisborne Stock Exchange.
