RAILWAY DEPARTMENT’S NEW POLICY. (Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, this day. ■ With a view .to meeting motor competition the Railway Department is instituting a commercial branch on (Tie transportation side, the object being to regain lost traffic and induce additional business in connection with sales, shows, and sporting events. Mr. ID. Rodie. district traffic manager at Invercargill, is being transferred to Wellington to take charge of the new branch, and will have associated with him officers specially suitable to this class of work. Mr. W. 0. Ennis, assistant district traffic manager at. Christchurch, replaces Mr. Rodie at Invercargill.
