MAORI INJURED
ACCIDENT IN GLADSTONE ROADi- ; j Undimmed headlights were responsible lor an accident in Gladtone road last night/whereby a Maori named William Giant, commonly knoitn as Raspberry, was admitted to Cook Hospital, suffering from injuries to his head.
The motor cyclist who was edging down Gladstone road was temporarily blinded by the dazzling lights of a oar proceeding in the. opposite direction. The motor cyclist, could dimly disc'em some men walking down the i>oad atiil leading a horse. He swerved to avoid Hie animal, but crashed into Grant, throwing him to the ground. The motor ear drove on, apparently unaware that the accident had occurred. 1 Grant was rendered unconscious by the impact, and Dr. Gunn was summoned. He found that the man had received injuries to his head, and ordered that he be removed to Cook Hospital. Inquiry at the hospital to-day elicited the information that the man was an- ! parentlv progressing satisfactorily.
