SUICIDE AT MOTU.
SAWMILL HAND TAKES HIS LIFE.
Inspector Hutton received word this afternoon that a man named Reginald Malone, aged 26 years, a, sawmill hand, committed suicide by cutting his throat. It is understood that his father resides at Grey Lynn. ’ , (Special to the Herald.) 4 MOTU, this day, A single man named Reginald Malone, who was employed at McDonald’s mill at Motuhora, committed suicide during the lunch hour to-day. The men knocked off for lunch, and Malone retired 1 to the wliare in which he lived. Another sawmill hand named McOoll went into Malone’s wliare. As he walked: in, Malone staggered across the iloor, blood streaming from him. He fell in a heap and expired within a minute. Tho deceased recently arrived from Gisborne.
An inquest will be held here tomorrow.
