CHINESE SOCCER TEAM.
ON THE WAY TO NEW ZEALAND. (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. Official advice of the departure of the team of Chinese University soccer players for New Zealand was received "by the secretary of the New Zealand Council. To-day lie received the following cable message from Dr. Gray, physical director for the Y.M.C.A. in China: “A strong team sailed to-day, comprising Mr. Dome, manager; Chen, coach university and South-eastern university, two players; Roo Chow, one; Fuhtarl, five; Nan Gans, four; Hongkong, one; Canton Christian, two. The delay in selection has made vast publicity irnpossi ble. In answer to a question Mr. Salmon said there was no possibility of the team playing in Australia on their ~vyay to New Zealand. Regret was expressed that Dr. Gray, who had done so l much for soccer in China, was not accompanying the team as manager. *
