IMPERIAL PARLIAMENT.
THE EVICTIONS BILL
(Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.) LONDON, June 4.
The House of Lords read ft third time the Simons Eviction Bill, but with an amendment giving British subjects preference over non-allied aliens and extending landlords' right of possession to landlords' sons and daughters. The amendments will probably be subject to acute controversy when the Bill fs returned! to the Commons, while the House of Lords' action frustrates the Government's intention to enforce the Bill before Whitsuntide.
