BOXING.
MURRAY BEATS VOLAIRE. (Per Press Association J DUNEDIN, last night. A crowded house witnessed a meeting between Les Murray and E. Volaire to-night. The combat went the lull route 0b.15 rounds and supplied one of the best* seen here for some time. Murray was on the aggressive throughout, and obviously in superior condition. Volaire, although putting up a. very plucky and clever battle, was tiring badly"towards the end. Volaire displayed the most vicious hitting, but was inclined to be wild towards the end, whilst Murray came up well for the final rounds and gathered a well-received decision. Murray, as aggressor, was always showing to advantage, but in some rounds the Frenchman showed up really well and gave his opponent anything but a smooth passage to success.
