WINTER SHOW.
ANNUAL MEETING. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Winter Show Association was held at Makaraka last evening, Mr. H. Lougher presiding over a fair attendance. The annual report showed that, despite many disadvantages, last year’s Show had' returned a fair profit. As the show was now a recognised annual function there was every possibility of it improving each year. In moving the adoption of the report the chairman eulogised the work which had been done by the late secretary, Mr. J. McGruther, who had devoted a great deal of time and energy towards the show. He pointed out that a great deal of work devolved upon a few members, and'he urged that each individual should do more to assist and thereby increase the efficiency of the organisation. Officers for the ensuing year were elected as follows:—President, Mr. H. Lougher; vice-presidents, Rev. W. Lambert and Mr. W. W. Shanks; committee, Messrs. G. Darton, J. Eade, T. Halbert, IT. A. Hamilton, F. Murphy, R. McCulloch, A. Thompson, F. W. Pilgrim, F. Woodbury, H. Moore, arid J. B. Greig; secretary, Mr. W.. M. Bayly; treasurer, Mr. J. B. Greig; hon. auditor, Mr. W. Garbett. It was decided that this year’s show he held in the Garrison Hall on June 12 and 13. The schedule was roughly gone into, and various clauses deleted and others substituted. It was decided that a special committee be set up to go into this matter, and Messrs. Dai'ton, IT. Lougher, F. Murphy, and J. B. Qreig were appointed for this purpose.
