Mr. R. C. Morgan, secretary of the Railway Officers’ Institute, said that lie had no statement to make regarding the railway crisis. In reply to a question he said it was quite possible that in the. event of a strike the Institute would adopt the same attitude as on a previous occasion of refusing to carry out any second division work. The Hon. J. (!. Contes, Minister of Railways, stated to-day that lie had received the report of the chairman of the Wages Board, and was now awaiting reports from representatives of the Railway Department and' rnilwaymen. Until these were received, the Minister added, lie could make no statement on the mntt er.
