BRITISH WIRELESS POLICY.

.Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 1, 11.40 a.m.) CAPETOWN, Feb. 29. Officials of the Wireless Company of -"'outh Africa, express great concern at Hie reported intention of the British Government to accept Mr. Donald’s report. They state that it is impossible to maintain a continuous service if only two stations are erected by the British Post Office to work four services, India., Australia, Africa, and New Zealand. The proposal would make a world-wide .Marconi organisation useless as .far as Africa is concerned. If the Union Government, is asked by the British Government, whether it will concur in the report it should say that in the event of the other Dominions insisting on their ends of the English service being controlled by private enterprise the African service should have a similar privilege. LONDON, Feb. 29. Mr. Donald explained that the com mittee had taken the only means of securing immediate action, which the Dominions desire. The re-opening of old negotiations would have produced a repetition of delays. The recommendations provide a definite basis for the establishment of an efficient system, rendering great service to the Empire. Ho points out that the public realises the possibilities of radio telegraphy.
