GRAVES OF HEROES.
LOVING CARE SHOWN. (Australian and N.Z. Cable Association.'! LONDON, Dec. .'lO. Mr. Bruce (Federal Premier) has returned from a visit to tho French and Belgian battlefields. He is impressed by the wonderful restoration of the war area, and desired to assure tho j)eople of Australia and New Zealand that they could confirm all they had heard of the loving care of tho graves of overseas soldiers tended by the Imperial War Graves Commission. Tho simple dignity of tho cemeteries denoted the equality of the sacrifice. In design they were most impressive. Some time must elapse before all the headstones are completed, hut oven where the wooden crosses still stood, the cemeteries wero beautifully laid out and planted. LONDON, Dec. 31. The War Graves Commission made a definite proposal in respect of. the upkeep of the four New Zealand memorial gardens for approximately £IOO annually.
