TUBE RAILWAY EXTENSIONS.
£6,000,000 WORKS TO BE BEGUN
LONDON, Nov. I.—The Underground announce that they are about to start on the: ambitious system of extensions and improvements to the tube railway of London which has been projected' for somei time and which lias been largely dependent on the State guarantee of the interest on the capital involved.
The total cost of the extensions, which are in South London,, and of the improvements, which are in the central area, is estimated at £6,000,000, and work will he provided, including that in hand, for between 25,000 and 30,000 men for two years.
