A SCIENTIFIC MYSTERY

During the week-end owners of even small-powered listening-in apparatus throughout Britain heard a musical programme distributed from Pittsburg (America), while to-night a Paris programme was broadcasted throughout Britain.

The representative of the company con trolling in Britain tho broadcasting of concerts from America, states he has been experimenting for months, and was snrprised when ho scored a success on Friday night. Ho could not explain how it was done, as Pittsburg station transmits only on hun-dred-metre wave lengths and uses low power. They had no special arrangements to send across the Atlantic, yet soiijij portions, of tho programme were clear 'ai'id fttlie'r pprtion's' hppglcEis. ''According to theory and. palpulfttionx, ho said, "we should not get anything from America on sucti short wave, lengths. There is a wonderful scientific mystery awaiting solution in connection with the whole business."
