CAUGHT IN BURNING WHARE.
MAN SEVERELY INJURED
A Ractilii message states: A man named Kennedy was severely burned at Erua owing to his whare catching lire, and lie had a narrow escape from fatal consequences. It appears when Kennedy was making his exit a part of the burning building fell on him, aiid he suffered considerable burns about the head, hands, face, and legs. Settlers came to his assistance and afterwards carried the unfortunate man 13 miles on a stretcher. He was.transferred to a dray and conveyed another 11 miles to the Erua railway station! when he was brought on to Raetihi' and admitted to the Waimarino public hospital. He was immediately attended to by Dr. Reddington, but. ho is in a very critical condition.
