Louiso Morheim and Marie Stephan, of Nancy, having both fallen in love with a local hairdresser, decided after frequent quarrels to fight a duel to the death, the survivor to have the hairdresser. The young women, accompanied by their seconds, went to a quiet spot, stripped off their blouses and faced each other, each gripping a knife. For some seconds they revolved slowly round each other. Then both sprang and stabbed. Bleeding profusely they fought on till both collapsed. They were taken to a hospital where they occupied adjoining beds.
