POULTRY DRIVE.
(To the Editor of the llerald.) Sir,—-A correspondent signing himself "Exhibitor" made nso of your valuable columns a day or two ago, to remark upou'Hho success of tho recent poultry show, and in passing, made some -mention of-tho coming poultry drive Now, a«i one interested in a small way m poultry, but not in touch with all the movements of .tho local society, I confess I am rather in tho dark as to tho aims and objects of the drive, and a few inquiries have'soJ far tailed to enlighten mo upon, the following points: Do tho local fanciers intend to sell matings of good > stock which will probably breed birds fit for show purposes next season andvthus increase interest in the show, or,is it to bo merely a salo of rejects? Also -what is to bo dono with tho proceeds! of such a salo? If the public have tho assurance of some official of the local society that good bloodstock will be offered it'should be a fine opportunity for some-of us to add to our breeding pen for tho coming season birds that will improve our stock, but I for ono think that the society should make the public quite clear upon these points. Thanking you for your valuable space.— I am, etc. "PROSPECTIVE BUYER."
