Referees’ Association wrote, pointing out that it did not consider it advisable to continue the practice of forwarding names of referees for the control oft, inter-provincial matches. The letter pointed out that the .association had, as requested by the N.Z.R.F. U., forwarded lists of names annually for many years, but no appointments from their membership had been made. The decision and < the reasons given were embodied in a resolution forwarded by the referees’ body. The chairman thought the resolution should be forwarded to the N.Z.R.F. U., as an indication as to how the local referees regarded their treatment. Mr. Reidy, delegate from the Referees’ Association, stated that in the 15 years during which the association had been sending forward names, they had never received a call.

Mr. Edmondson pointed out that a similar position existed with regard to the union’s recommendations of players for New Zealand teams.

The chairman’s suggestion was adopt

Spnny Bartlett, a Maori player, was given approval of his transfer to the East Coast Union’s district.

The question of the date for the return match, Waikohu sub-union representatives versus Poverty Bay representatives, wa3 raised, and it was decided to arrange the match for July 21. As a curtain-raiser to the big match the junior representatives of Waikohu will meet a junior representative team from the town clubs. The selectors were requested to submit teams for both matches.
