DEVOLUTION IN CANADA.
NEW DOMINIONS SUGGESTED
VANCOUVER, April 26.—Mr. H. W. Corning, the Conservative member for Yarmouth (Nova Scotia), introduced a motion in the House of Assembly providing for a referendum to decide the question of Nova Scotia withdrawing from Canada, and establishing herself as an independent, self-governing British Dominion.
Mr, Corning requested the Government to suspend the rules of the House to enable the debute to take place. He alleged that Nova Scotia was not being treated fairly regarding railway rates, shipping, and other activities vital to the province. The motion reported from Halifax is all the more interesting in view of similar action being advocated at the other end of Canada by the Premier of British Columbia, and on similar grounds.
