DOG TRIALS.
!>,&. CLUB'S ANNUAL MEETING
Tho annual meeting of the Poverty Bay Dog Trial Club was held on Saturday;; Mr. J. Fivers presiding over a good attendance.
The dates settled upon for the annual trials were May 23rd to 26th (inclusive). Mr. H. M. Bayly, it was stated, had agreed to allow the club the use of his Kaiti properly for tho trials. 'Mr. 3. Eivcrs was re-elected president of the club, and the following vice-presi-dents were nominated : Messrs T. Quirk, T. Sherratt, 0". Neenau, R. Fisken. F. Collin, G. M. Reynolds, A. Saunders, A. S. Wachsmann, D. J. Barry, N. Law, 1). Clements, T, Holden, F. Tolerton, W. G. Sberratt, A. Rigney, N. Hingston, G. W. Humphries, E; M. Hutchinson, W. Robson, I). Wilson, W. Wilson, M. Hickey, J. Turnbull. G. Cooper, R. D«vcry, and Mrs. Brodie; timekeeper, F. Bousfield (junr.); dog stewards, Messrs. Burnand, Hill, arid O. Eivcrs; sheep stewards, Messrs. Mullooly, Drummond, Hingston, Campbell, and Williamson.
It was decided to conduct contests as follows: —Class 1, long head and hold in rincrj olass 2, short head ami yard ; class 3, zig-zag hunfaway; class 4, stiaight huntaway; and to close entries on May 16th, at 8 p.m. The general committee) was elected! as follows: Messrs E. Hingston, Lloyd, G. Eivers, Mcßae, E. Daver, Law, Mullooly, Drummond), Parkinson, Hill, Thompson, Cleary, S. Calcott, 0. Evans, Williamsom, Aylward, and G. Campbell. The executive committee are Messrs J. Herbert, Mullooly, Burnand, and 1 G. Eivers. It was decided to ask Mr. Arthur Anderson, of Kanakanaia, to officiate as. judge, Messrs Eivers (2), Hill, Herbert, Burnand, and Williamson were appointed/ a social committee to arrange for the annual ball, to be held diuring the progress of the trials.
