BRUSSELS, April 27

Tho Prince of Wales arrived on a State visit to the King and Queen of Pelguim' in the cruiser Caledon. Brussels was en fete and the route to

the palace was gaily decorated with British and Belgian flags. •Buildings were illuminated, and the chief official function was the unveiling of tho statue erected by Britain near the Palais de Justice, in grateful recognition of Belgium's part in the war. The monument would perpetuate the memory of tho glorious brotherhood in arms.

The King, replying, said that Belgium would never forget the sublime sacrifices of the British soldiers who made the Ypres salient an untakeable bastion of the Allied line. The monument for ever would illustrate tho heroism of the British race.

Tho Prince of Wales was given a banquet at the Palace. King . Albert thanked the British Empire for the monument, which was a reaffirmation of the long standing friendship on which Belgium could always rely.
