CHRISTCHURCH, this day

C. N. Worsley, whose death was announced in the'cables, was well known in art circles in New Zealand, and particularly in Christchurch. He arrived here about 25 years ago, but, returned to England on 'two or three occasions, the last time being about two years ago. He has pictures in all the art galleries of New Zealand, three pictures in the Sydney gallery, and pictures in many of the galleries in England and on the Continent. Some time ago Mr. Worsley had one of his pictures of Wnngnnui river purchased by Her Majesty the. Queen. Early this year Mr. Worsley and his wife' left: England for Italy, where be intended spending several months sketching. Mr. Worsley planned to return to New Zealand at the end of this year. Mr. Worsley's "Ml. Sefton," in the Christchurch art gallery, was given for the Bed Cross on condition tmtt the society raised £IOO. and similar gifts were made to other New Zetland galleries. Christchurch has two other pictures of his, a very bright Continental market scene and a street in Venice.
